About the Role
This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with Akka’s Head of Community & Events, playing a key role in bringing our community to life through high-impact events and strategic community-building initiatives.
You’ll help plan, organize, and execute unforgettable experiences—both online and in-person—from afterworks and workshops to high-profile galas. You’ll also support the development of creative initiatives to foster engagement within our community platform.
Responsibilities
· Assist in planning and executing events (logistics, venue sourcing, supplier coordination, on-site support, etc.)
· Support the design and execution of community engagement initiatives (games, networking challenges, Discord activities, etc.)
· Help manage communication campaigns through WhatsApp, email, and Discord
· Collaborate with regional ambassadors and key community members
· Prepare materials and presentations for events or internal use
· Collect and analyze feedback to improve future community experiences
· Conduct market research and benchmarking of community strategies across other startups
Location & Commitments
· Paid internship
· Ideally hybrid (Madrid-based), with remote options available within Spain
· Part-time or full-time, depending on availability
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
· Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Business, Communications, Event Management, or related fields
· Genuine interest in startups, innovation, and venture capital
· Strong organizational and detail-oriented mindset
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
· Proactive, creative, and enthusiastic team player
· Comfortable with tools like Google Workspace, Notion, Slack and Discord
Nice to Have:
· Previous experience in event organization or community engagement
· Basic knowledge of design tools (Canva, Figma)
· Experience with platforms like Eventbrite, Brevo, Discord
